What is this?
Nordic Transit Replay captures 24 hours of real public-transport movement
across four Nordic capitals — Helsinki, Stockholm, Oslo, and Reykjavik — and replays it as
an animated dark map. Vehicle positions were recorded every 30–120 seconds from live feeds,
giving roughly 720–2 880 frames per city per day.
Choosing a city
🗺
Click any city card to open its individual replay player.
Each player loads only that city's data (~7–80 MB) and lets you explore it in detail.
⊞
Use All cities synced ↗ in the footer to watch
all four cities play simultaneously from a single shared timeline — great for side-by-side comparison.
Dates
📅
Two recordings are available: Tuesday 8 April and
Tuesday 14 April 2026. Select the date inside each city player using the
pill buttons in the right panel. Helsinki also has Sunday 15 Mar and
Monday 16 Mar for weekday comparison.

Corridor trails (🖌 Paint)

onto the map as playback advances, revealing the full network geometry over time.

Timezones in the synced view
All four cities play from the same UTC clock. Local times differ by design —
Helsinki noon (UTC+3) = Stockholm 11:00 (UTC+2) = Reykjavik 09:00 (UTC+0).
Each city badge shows its UTC offset for reference.
